Lithuanian National Union of Students
Lithuanian National Union of Students was established in 1991. It is the highest, independent, non-governmental, democratic, national student organisation that unites student self-governing bodies of Lithuania higher education institutions (HEI) and represents and defends the interests and rights of students.
LSS represents and defends Lithuanian students on the highest level regarding their issues related to social and economic welfare, creation and improvement of educational policies, academic and other issues of importance for students.
The mission of LSS is to represent Lithuanian students on the national and international level and to advocate their rights. LSS is working with disability issues for more than 4 years. At the moment, LSS is working on broadening it's working frame and starts the activities in discrimination sphere in Higher education.
LSS organises the strengthening and broadening of the contacts with governmental institutions, the development of close communication with local, national and international organisations in the sphere of a common interest. The union is also involved in preparation and carrying out of projects intended for improving students’ academic and social status and organising courses, seminars for student self-government organisation member.
